CranioSacral Massage

CranioSacral massage is a gentle, hands-on method of evaluating and enhancing the function of the CranioSacral system and involves releasing fascial restrictions that are in a state of organized dysfunction.

The CranioSacral system is a rhythm that can be felt throughout the body and is seen as the life force, or the "Breath of Life”. I will use a very light, soft touch to monitor this rhythm and pinpoint sources of obstruction and stress in the body – then uses gentle motions to "nudge" the flow of the fluid in the soft tissues, which bathe the brain and spinal cord. CranioSacral massage has proved effective in treating stress related dysfunctions, headaches, chronic neck and back strain, fatigue, and various sensory disorders, as well as other traumas stored in the body. CranioSacral massage therapy provides a profound sense of relaxation, and is the gentlest of all of massage treatments.

CranioSacral for Children and Infants
CranioSacral massage therapy can be used to treat childhood conditions such as poor sleep, restlessness, colic and ear infections. It is a gentle and non-invasive therapy and can be used to treat babies, even while they are asleep. This type of massage employs a very light touch and is well suited for children and infants. (See above description for more information on CranioSacral Therapy.)

Note on CranioSacral Massage: There are some medical conditions that are contraindicated for crainiosacral therapy. These include conditions such as acute aneurysm, cerebral hemorrhage or other pre-existing severe bleeding disorders. These conditions could be affected by variations of the intracranial pressure, causing instability. It is advisable to consult your medical practitioner before embarking on a course of CranioSacral therapy.
